Ellington - 1 Month

Ellington has definitely enjoyed her first month of life. And we have surely enjoyed her. She's a calm and chilled out baby. Only cries when she's hungry. Sleeps a TON. Loves to be held and rocked to sleep. Growing like a weed... was 8 pounds, 1 ounce at her 4 week check up. Which is a huge gain after being so tiny and then loosing so much weight originally. Go girl!

We are all so smitten. I say this with every baby, but each morning it's like she's a present we get to unwrap again and again. Even through the sleepless nights and the long days, unwrapping that swaddle each blanket is like unwrapping the most perfect, tiny human gift.

She's got really amazing steel gray eyes. We don't see them much since she's a sleepy little thing, but when they open, we all have to stop what we're doing and stare right back into them. Talk to her and tell her we love her before she nods off to la la land again.

Thanksgiving was a special one with both sides of the family. Nene and Pops came a few days before Thanksgiving and the Powells came a few days after. She got to meet her cousin Sara Bryce, her Uncle H and Aunt Carla who were in town from St. Louis.

Brooks adores her. Cannot stop kissing her and calling her "the cutest person in our family." Carter refers to her as "Baby Ellington" as if Baby was her first name or formal title. Never just Ellington or Ellie. They are both great big brothers. Truly. We were not entirely sure how they would respond to her and we've been really impressed by their sincerity and had our hearts melted by their adoration of her.

Here are a few of our favorite photos from this month!
