A fun family tradition we've started is to create a "Summer Bucket List" at the beginning of each summer. It outlines a bunch of fun activities we want to try to "check off our list" over the course of the summer. Outings that might be hard to squeeze in during the school year. Annie started the tradition with the boys, and we wanted to keep it going for another year. The boys love checking things off the list and talking about what's left. Gives them something to feel good about and look forward to. This year, we decided to add some "challenges" to the list as well. Individualized goals we had for the summer that would put the boys a bit out of their comfort zone. I think because they co-created the list with us, they felt more motivated to push themselves... because typically this is not the case. I'm proud to say that we completed the ENTIRE bucket list AND challenge list - with flying colors!! It's such a perfect way to sum up our summer too because these were certainly the highlights. Go Team Powell!
