Ellington - 2 Months

Ellington officially celebrated her 2 month birthday. This month brought us through the holiday season with both Christmas and New Years! Her first set of holidays complete!

As you can see from the photos, she is growing like a weed. She's beginning to get a little more plump and she was 8 pounds, 1 ounce at the 8 week appointment. Go girl! Her eyes are still a gray/brown color and we get lost in them often. She is a sweet sweet baby. Sleeping well at night, easily soothed (except during her witching hour) and very snuggly. Her favorite place to sleep in on top of someone. With all the family time in the holidays and many visitors, she has been able to spend a lot of quality time in someone's arms.

The most exciting progress this month is far and away the SMILES! So much of them. They started at 6 weeks and I thought surely it was too early for social smiles, but they are the real deal. She locks eyes with you, recognizes your face or sound of your voice and erupts into the cutest smile. It's so heartwarming and gives us even more of a glimpse into her personality. You'll also notice her little "pear shaped" belly. It cracks us up the way her stomach bows out around her tiny shoulders and hips.

Here are a few of our favorite pictures this month.

Resting atop the amazing quilt Mary Beth made for her, in her nightgown.

It got cold enough to bust out the bear suit at the park, and it couldn't have been cuter.

Many cold nights called for fires, which E really enjoyed admiring from her Daydreamer.

The boys continue to be the best big brothers, totally enamored.

She's got pretty remarkable head control for someone so little!

After the bath, her hair gets so fluffy. We have to comb it down or it looks like this!

Another milestone, her first bow! It actually didn't seem to bother her and it looked so sweet.

We love the way she is sitting pretty in this one, the expression on her little heart shaped lips,
and the bit of leg she's showing!

She's started taking naps in her crib and enjoys them. Sweet sleeping beauty.
