11 months with this little cherub... so close to a year... truly hard to believe. The name of the game this month was MOVE. She didn't stop moving. Cruising, crawling, pulling up, getting back down, standing in her crib, you name it. She's so interested in exploring that she's not at all interested in any toys. In fact, nothing really holds her attention for very long because she's constantly scheming how to get to the next thing. The only toy she plays with is the small piano which she plays standing up and often tries to climb on top of (with no success). She's muttering sounds all the time, but still no real words. I think she's so focused on making up for lost time in the gross motor department she doesn't have time for anything else.
She's adjusted nicely to the school year schedules. Can be flexible on her naps and is pretty much a go with the flow kinda gal. Guess that's to be expected from number 3. We took a trip to Sugar Mountain with the Nixons and she got to play with her best buddy Barrett all weekend. It was adorable to watch them try to get around in their newly mobile states. We also went to the pumpkin patch and she had a blast.
The boys continue to adore her and she continues to idolize them. Carter can get a little territorial about his toys and sharing now that she can mosey over and take whatever it is he's playing with whenever she wants to, so we are working on that. A lot of "NOOO Ellie!" from C-man. In a "not nice" tone. But I know deep down he loves her. And she honestly does not seem to mind one bit. Sometimes I see her smiling mischievously right back at him like she's happy to get a rise out of him.
Her personality and social awareness are really coming out. It's hard to describe exactly why, but our interactions are differing. She seems more knowing. And playful. And connected. It's a really sweet time. But I say that about every time. Maybe it's just that she's a really sweet baby. ;)
