Carter - 7 Months

Another month older, another month bigger, wiser, hungrier, and more steady.

The biggest breakthrough (no pun intended) of this month was that he did, in fact, get a tooth! Bottom right side. Very cute. Coming up more and more each day to where you can really see it. Think that the other bottom tooth is not too far behind!

The next biggest development is that he's figured out to get onto all fours. He leans forward and uses the strength of his arms to rock back and forth on his knees. Then, with one eager outstretched arm he reaches for a toy just outside his reach and SPLAT... his legs splay out and he winds up on his belly. We are all placing bets on when the actual crawling will begin, but it cannot be denied that he is very hard at work in preparation for the big event.

He's eating almost everything now. Even some finger foods. He loves the puffs and can get his little pinchers working to bring them to his mouth. We tried some cut up avocado, blueberries, and banana too. There is very little he doesn't like. Eating is one of his favorite activities.

He babbles a bunch. Da da das and ga ga ga and ya ya yas. I'll admit it, he said da da first. And still no sign of ma ma. Sigh.

Brooks is in for a real surprise once Carter really gets mobile and starts trying to steal his toys! This has already begun some and we're working on sharing. When Brooks does share with Carter he makes sure to give him the plane or car he likes the least. Good thing Carter doesn't know the difference. Brooks is in for an even bigger surprise in a several more months when Carter is double his size at half his age and let's him have it back!
